Raghavendra Mahatmyam
Guru Raghavendra is our activating force. He only makes us to talk, walk and enables us to move in the right direction of our life. Guru Raghavendra being a Madhwa Saint helps us to breathe easily without any difficulty, since Guru Madhwa is an incarnation of Lord Vayu Bhagavan, the god of wind. In one of the famous Kannada song, the singer has sung like this, “Hey Guru Raghavendra, Please don’t leave me alone, even for a single moment in my life”. Guru Raghavendra moves closely with his devotees, and makes them to smile happily in their lives.
We can become a Guru Raghavendra Swamy Upasaka, by chanting his names for several times in a day. Actually the name, “RAGHAVENDRA”, is one of the names of Lord Rama only, and hence, chanting the name of Guru Raghavendra is equivalent to chanting the names of Lord Rama itself.
Since Guru Raghavendra worships Lord Hanuman, who is our Prananatha, by worshipping Guru Raghavendra, we would get a strong body, and our mind also would shine brightly. We must have to chant the Mantra, “POOJYAYA RAGHAVENDRAYA”, since it is considered as a popular Mantra of Guru Raghavendra. In one of the songs of Guru Raghavendra, it was mentioned as:
1. Hey my Guru Raghavendra, I am an orphan, I don’t have anyone to look after me, I strongly believe that you are watching all of my activities, and would protect me like my affectionate mother.
2. Hey my Guru Raghavendra, I find most of the people around me as bad and worst. I don’t want to interact with anyone, excepting you, please hear my talks, and act like my best friend.
3. Hey my Guru Raghavendra, due to my bad karmas, I am suffering from diseases, and I found no one to properly take care of me. Please take the form of my mother, remove my tears, and by touching me through your lotus hands, please heal my diseases.
4. Hey my Guru Raghavendra, days are passing faster, I am not finding any improvement in my life. I don’t have sufficient wealth to run my life, please at least give me the courage and will-power to run my life with whatever I possess.
5. Hey my Guru Raghavendra, you have been praised as the divine cow, Kamadhenu, and the wish fulfilling tree, Kalpavriksha, hence, please satisfy my needs, as my loving father.
6. Hey my Guru Raghavendra, I don’t know how to come out from my bad karmas! I don’t know the proper way to shine in my life! Things are becoming worst! I think I may die at any time, please make me to stay alive in this world at least for few more years, in order to worship you sincerely.
7. Hey my Guru Raghavendra, you are my best Guru, I would lead my life happily by chanting your divine Mantras. I would consider my home as your holy Mantralayam, and I would worship your picture in my puja room, by considering it as your Holy Samadhi Shrine at Mantralayam.
