Why Lord Vinayaka hate Lord Chandra?
There is a legend associated with this, once, Lord Vinayaka ate lot of Mothakams, and while he was travelling in the skies, his divine vehicle, Mooshika was afraid on seeing a snake, and hence, it began to roll down, due to that, Lord Vinayaka’s belly was opened and from that, his favourite mothakams began to fell down. But, Lord Vinayaka had again took all the mothakams, placed it on his belly, and also wore the snake on his wrest, by considering it as a belt.
On seeing the happening of strange incident, instead of worshipping Lord Vinayaka, Lord Chandra laughed loudly, and also badly commented about his appearance. Due to that, Lord Vinayaka had got angry, and cursed him to lose his powers. Due to this incident, Lord Vinayaka disliked Chandra Bhagavan, and this is the reason for avoiding him.
Why Lord Vinayaka has accepted mouse as his vehicle? Since Lord Vinayaka killed the demon Mushikasura, who was in the form of a big mouse, and since Lord Vinayaka wants to grant salvation to the demon, he has wilfully accepted him as his divine vehicle mouse!
