Onam is not a celebration of a one day or two days. Onam is a grand gala of 10 festivals. In 2012, Onam festival celebrations begin on August 21 and ends with Thiru Onam on August 29. Onam calendar or schedule consists of 10 festivals celebrated from day one – Atham – till the 10th and final day – Thiru Onam.

Third day Onam – 23 September 2012, Chodhi (Thursday)
Fourth day Onam – 24 September 2012, Visakam (Friday)

Seventh day Onam – 27 September 2012, Moolam (Monday)
