Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati (20th century AD), also known as Swami Chinmayananda, was a spiritual Guru, who formed the Chinmaya Mission, in order to spread the Holy texts of Hinduism among the public.Swami Chinmayananda, was born in Ernakulam in Kerala, in a pious Menon family. He also participated in the Independence movement and he was imprisoned for some time by the British people.

He was a master in Vedanta and the Holy Puranas, and he was a highly knowledgeable person in spiritual studies.His birth name was Balakrishna Menon. He travelled throughout the world, and gave valuable spiritual guidance to all the spiritual seekers. Chinmaya Mission contains more than 100 centres throughout the world, and Chinmayananda had written lot of spiritual books and also published it. He served as a visiting professor in Hindu Philosophy in some foreign countries. Chinmayananda is also the co-founder of the Hindu religious movement, Vishva Hindu Parishad, which was started in the year 1964.
