1st day of Navratri 2020 is March 25 in Chaitra Vasant Navratri and October 17 in Ashwin Navratri (Durga Sharan Navratri). Ghatasthapana (Kalasha Sthapana) is the main ritual on this day.
This day marks the beginning of Navratri Puja throughout India as well as the world except for Bengali Hindus.
In Nepal, this festival is celebrated as Dashain. On the first day of Dashain, Ghatasthapana is observed.
As per almost all the North Indian calendars, South Indian calendars, Navratri Kalasha Sthapana is on March 25 and October 17 during Chaitra Navratri and Ashwin Navratri respectivly.
