Makara Sankranthi at Arasavalli Temple

Makara Sankranthi is a jubilant festival celebrated at Arasavalli Temple. It falls in January every year. Special Abhishekam and Archana are performed to Lord Suryanarayana Swamy.

Those who will have the Darshanam of Suryanarayanaswamy on Makara Sankranthi would be blessed with health and prosperity.

Makar Sankranti or Sankranthi is celebrated on Makar Sankraman day. Four-day Sankranti 2019 starts on 14 January and ends on 17 January 2019. Bhogi marks the beginning of the festival and the festivities are concluded on Mukkanuma. Makara Sankranthi 2018 date is January 14.

Makar Sankranti marks the beginning of Uttarayan or Uttarayana Punyakalam (sun’s transition towards Northern Hemisphere). In 2019, Makar Sankranti falls in Pushya Shukla Ashtami in Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, and Kannada calendars.
