Lord Vayu is the wind god, and he contains enormous powers.He is the son of Rishi Kashyapa and Aditi, and he is considered as one of the powerful demi gods, who discharges his duties in an excellent manner.

He is the father of Lord Hanuman andBheemaand they sincerely served Lord Rama and Lord Krishna in the previous yugas, and in thisKaliyuga, he has again taken the avatar as Madhwacharyaand still he is doing sincere service to the great Rishi Vedavyasa atBhadrikashram.

Lord Vayu contains lot of importance and he is the one who makes all the living beings in the earth, and in the heaven to breathe properly. Without his existence, there is no possibility to live in this world. Though he contains lot of powers, yethe is a kind god, who worships Lord Vishnu and his immediate master is Lord Indra, and he serves faithfully to him. He has some temples in India, and he also worshipped Lord Shiva in Vayulingeswarar Temple, and it is an ancient and a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and it is located in Paruthipattu Village in Thiruvallur District. Lord Shiva is worshipped in this temple as Vayunlingeswarar, and Mata Parvati Devi is known as Viruthambigai.

According to the legend, Lord VayuBhagavan, the wind god, had worshipped in this temple, and relieved from his curse, and got great powers through the blessings of Lord Shiva. This temple is located a few kilometres away from Thiruverkadu Temple, and those who visit Mata Karumariamman at Thiruverkadu are advised to visit this temple also. Since Lord Vayu is the wind god, and through his powers, we are able to breathe easily, and also enjoying the chilled air. By visiting this temple, we can please Lord Shiva and Lord VayuBhagavan, and can get good health, wealth and also get all kinds of prosperities in our life.

Lord VayuBhagavan would heal our diseases, and especially he would heal our health problems like gastric problems, indigestion and stomach disorders. It is also believed that Lord Hanuman, son of VayuBhagavan had visited this temple and worshipped Lord Shiva. Similar to visiting VaidyaVeeraraghavaPerumal Temple at Thiruvallur, lot of patients are coming here for getting relieved from their health related problems.

Special pujas and abhishekhams would be done on Mondays, and the devotees can contact the temple office for booking their respective pujas. Some devotees shared their spiritual experiences after visiting this temple, and they told that they are relieved from their various health problems and mental disturbances through the grace of Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati and VayuBhagavan.
