While the term Kalyanam refers to marriages made between ordinary mortals like us, marriages performed between immortal gods and goddesses are known as Thirukalyanam. Some of the Thirukalyanam of the ancient celebrated divine personalities are as follows:
1.Marriage ceremony of Vayu Bhagavan
Though most of them are not aware about the marriage ceremony of the great Vayu Bhagavan, the god of wind, who has dedicated his entire soul and body on devoting Lord Vishnu, was a deity whose marriage was happened before several years ago, but the details about this popular wedding was found very rarely in some holy scriptures of Hinduism. Long back ago, on one auspicious day, Lord Vayu Bhagavan had tied the sacred knot on the beautiful neck of Ma Svasti and Ma Bharati, and thereafter they have become dutiful wives of Lord Vayu Bhagavan.
2.Marriage Ceremony of Agni Bhagavan
Agni Bhagavan who is known as the Lord of Fire, and he is the one, who is capable of burning everything and even the entire world into ashes is regarded as one of the popular Vedic deity. 4.Marriage Ceremony of Lord ChitraGupta
Lord ChitraGupta is the divine accountant who holds the accounts of the people and gives correct judgement as per our karmic deeds. He lives in the Yama Loka, and discharges his duties marvellously. His consort is Karnikambal and they had got married before several years ago, and they still live together happily, and Ma Karnikambal serves as a dutiful consort to Lord ChitraGupta.
5.Marriage Ceremony of Lord Kubera
Lord Kubera who is popularly known as god of wealth is being collectively worshipped with Ma Lakshmi Devi who is also the goddess of wealth, prosperity and fame. Lord Kubera had got married with Ma Bhadra, and out of her, he has got Nalakuvara and Manigriva, as sons, who were once cursed by Rishi Narada, and ultimately, they have become Marutha Trees, and after that, during the previous Dwapara Yuga they had got relieved from their curse from the hands of Lord Child Krishna.
6.Marriage Ceremony of Navagrahas
Navagrahas who are the nine celestial planets, decides our life, and out of their movement, success/failures come along the way in the lives of humans like us. Lord Surya was married with Saranyu and Chaya Devi, Lord Chandra was married with Ma Rohini, who is the chief star goddess and also Chandra married her 26 sisters. Lord Angaraka was married with Ma Jwalini, who glitters like the precious metal gold and she is said to be an aspect of Ma Parvati Devi who is also known as Ma Shakti Devi. Lord Budhan was married with Ila, Brihaspati, the divine guru of Lord Indra, was married with Ma Tara Devi, Lord Sukra was married with Jayanti, and Lord Shani was married with Ma Manda Devi and Ma Jyesta Devi.
