Tala Navami (Tal Nabami Vrat) is observed in Bhadra Month in Bengal, Odisha and some other parts of Eastern India. In 2019, Tala Navami date is September 7.
It falls on the ninth day of Shukla in Bhadra Month as per North Indian calendars. Married women observe Upvaas (fasting) on this day and offer special pujas to Goddess Durga.
Tala Navami also marks the beginning of preparations for Durga Puja. In other places of India, Tal Nabami vrat is observed with the name of Nanda Navami Durga Puja.
