Shrawan Month, Shravan Maas is the 4th month in traditional Nepali Hindu calendar followed in Nepal and some other surrounding places of the country. In 2019, Nepali Shrawan month begins on 17 July and ends on 17 August 2019. This is the 2076 Hindu year in Bikram Panchang of Nepal (Nepali Patro).
Shrawan month is considered highly auspicious month of the year and each Monday of Shravan maas is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shrawan Somvar vrat is the most observed vrat during Shravan month in Nepal.
In Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu, large number of women devotees gathers and worships the Lord with their special puja. They light butter lamps and incense to please Lord Shiva. Nepali Hindu women wear red or green or yello bangles throughout the month and offer special puja to Lord Pashipatinath for long and prosperous life of their husbands.
