Pandava Ekadasi, also known as Pandava Nirjal Ekadashi, is an important Ekadashi vrat among 24 Ekadashis in a Hindu year. Pandava Ekadasi is observed on Jyeshta Shukla Ekadashi day, 11th day in bright half of Jyeshta month.
In 2014, Pandav Nirjal Ekadasi date is June 9. The legend of Pandava Ekadasi or Nirjala Ekadashi vrat katha, and spiritual significance and importance of observance are mentioned in Mahabharata and the Padma Purana.
Also known as Bhim Ekadashi or Bhimsen Ekadasi, Pandav Ekadasi is considered as highly auspicious day in Vaishnava sect of Hindus. Devotees believe observing fast or upvas without even drinking water may fetch them salvation or Moksha.
