Ekadashi or Ekadasi vrata is an auspicious vrat dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is observed on 11th day of Shukla and Krishna Paksha in each month.
Ekadasi June 2026 dates are – June 11 & June 25 (Parama Ekadashi and Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat).
Kamala Ekadashi (Parama Ekadashi) – 11 June 2026
Parama Ekadasi vrat is observed on Krishna Paksha Ekadasi in Adhika masam or Adhik mahina. Parama Ekadasi vrat katha is mentioned in the Skanda Purana as a conversation between Lord Sri Krishna and Dharmaraja.
It is to note that Smarta sect of people observes Ekadashi vrat and fasting during the day it begins and Vaishnava sect of people observe the vrat when it ends. These Ekadashi dates are given as per Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and Gujarati calendars and North Indian Hindi calendars.
Nirjala Ekadashi – 25 June 2026
Nirjala Ekadasi is also known as Bhimsen Ekadasi or Pandava Ekadashi. On this day, most of the devotees observe fasting even without drinking water.
Nirjala Ekadasi falls in Shukla Paksha Ekadasi in Jyeshta month as per all lunar calendars followed in North India, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. It falls in Mithunam Month in Malayalam calendar, Aani Masam in Tamil Panchangam, Ashar Mash in Bengali Panjika.
