Money Power

The power of money cannot be explained in words! As per the famous Tamil saying, “Panam Illadavan Pinam”, Those who doesn’t have money could be termed as dead, even when they are still alive! “Panam Paththum Seiyum”, Money would do lot of wonders, “Panam Endral Pinamum Vaaiyai Pilakkum”, once if we utter the word, ‘MONEY’, then, even a dead body will open its mouth! ‘Panam Pandiyile, Gunam Kuppaiyile’, a person who contains lot of money would be treated as a best, whereas a person without money, but only with good qualities, would be treated just like a broken dust bin only! Money contains such a great power! Money can be treated as an Akshaya Patra, since, it gives all sorts of wealth to us. Money would do many, and Money would give us sufficient strength both in our mind and body, since with the help of money, we can fulfil our needs and desires. As per an old English proverb, ‘Even a witch would treat you well provided if you are a rich’!

With money we can buy only things, but at the same time, we can’t eat money! The great saints like Adishankara, Guru Raghavendra Swamy, Ramanuja and Madhwacharya have led a simple life, just because of their good qualities, and these saintly people didn’t consider money as a wonderful great thing! During the times of famine, only the rich people would be able to survive in the world, and if we think about the poor ones, what will they do for it? They have to simply curse for their fate, and must have to die due to hunger!

Once, when a famine had occurred during 19th century, lot of people were died due to hunger, and some women have even sold their flesh to others for providing food to their family! In order to get rid from such types of problems, my small advice is, that the government can set up a ‘PEOPLE WELFARE FUND’, in the form of Fixed Deposits, and they can invite the rich and the philanthropists to contribute large sums of money for the welfare of the people to the fund. This fund could be utilised during the time of famine, flood or even during the time of wars!

Since I belong to a middle-class family, I am so much concerned about the sufferings of the poor and the needy. I always used to do some sort of social services based on my financial position. Whenever I come across any beggars, I always used to provide some money, and also in the form of biscuit packets to them. But a single person cannot satisfy the requirements of the entire world! Daily I used to pray to the god, to give sufficient money to everyone in the world. I have also been side-lined by some of my rich relatives, since I comes under the category of Middle-Class!

Hence let us consider the sufferings of the poor and the needy as our own, and let’s always lend our helping hand to them, in order to see beautiful smile on their face. We should always remember the famous proverb, that, God always prefer to live mainly on the hearts of the poor and the down-trodden.
