We must realise that committing suicide is a sinful act, not only from the eyes of the law, but also it is considered as a sinful act from the eyes of the god also! This can be better known by reading the Holy Bhagavat Gita.
Lord Krishna during his Bhagavat Gita recitation tells to Arjuna, “Oh my Dear Arjuna, I don’t know why people commits suicides, when I am (God) is there is help them! Due to lack of faith on god and lack of patience, people commit suicides during the times of their difficulties. Before taking that kind of extreme action, they must call me and must come forward to seek help from me, and, then I am ready to sort out of their problems very easily, within a fraction of a second. Do you know that committing suicide is also considered as a sinful act, since no one has got the right to take out their own lives, since our life is gifted by the god, and he only has got the right to take out our lives at the appropriate time, those who wilfully end up their lives without my permission, would be punished by me severely, and they would have to suffer from handicaps on their body during their subsequent births, like taking birth either as a mentally challenged, or as a blind or deaf or dumb, or altogether”.
Some stupid people used to commit suicides in order to know about the condition of their soul after their death. Losing their precious lives by the way of committing suicides, would make them to live as a ghost for a long period of time, in a restless situation, and during their next birth also, their life would be filled up with full of miseries and sorrows only. If we take the case of other living beings like insects, animals and birds, they would never commit suicides. Their death would occur naturally. But human beings have got six senses, and still then, some of them are not able to control their mind, and due to that, they wilfully call Lord Yama Dev, to take out their lives.
If we take the example of the great Bhagavata Sri Prahalada, even after getting the entire blessings of his beloved deity Lord Vishnu, still he has suffered a lot during his lifetime, like fighting with his own bad natured cousin Andhakasura, unnatural death of his son Virosana, living in the underworld along with his grandson, the great Mahabali as per the wishes of Lord Vamana, a great Vishnu Avatar, etc. Likewise, even the divine mother, Ma Shakti Devi has been cursed by his consort Lord Shiva even for small, small things and due to that, she left Kailasa, has performed meditation on the earth, and then again re-united with Lord Shiva. She didn’t take the matter seriously, since she considered even the curse of Lord Shiva as teachings, and in fact, even she has considered it as a great boon to her!
Even Lord Venkateswara, the original form of Lord Vishnu, has suffered from hunger and thirst when he came down to the earth from his abode, the wonderful Vaikunta! Likewise Lord Rama and Krishna have also suffered during their stay at this earth, and they patiently faced their problems with a smile! Saints like Guru Raghavendra and Shirdi Saibaba have been tested by several people, and even they have to prove their divinity before them! Hence by considering all the above points, let us take things easily in our life, worship the almighty whole heartedly, chant the names and Mantras of the deities, and let us patiently live in this mother earth, till we face a natural death.
