Brahma Vaivarta Purana

The Brahma Vaivarta Purana is written in Sanskrit and it is also considered as a main purana and it contains the details about Radha and Krishna, their attachment, bondage and their divine love and affection. This Purana mentions that Lord Krishna is the Chief god, and he controls the other gods such as Brahma, Shiva, Muruga and Vinayaka, and Mata Radha is considered as the supreme goddess, and she is considered to be the incarnation of Mata Lakshmi Devi.

This Purana is considered similar to Bhagavata Purana, and it covers the significance of Lord Krishna. It also tells the conversation between Brahma and Krishna, and the supreme powers shown by Lord Krishna before Brahma, in order to destroy the ego of Brahma. This Purana also tells how a couple should show their love and affection on each other, and how they have to get united through their souls, and how the children must respect their parents etc. Developing Krishna bhakti is the main thing in this today’s world, and without keeping bhakti on Krishna we would never attain Mukti. We can constantly chant the names of Lord Krishna and recite his holy mantras, in order to attain his lotus feet, after our death.

Krishna is an avatar of Lord Vishnu, and he is our friend, philosopher, guru, guide and god. He pleases us by performing lovely music from his divine flute. Krishna was born in the previous Dwaparayuga to Devaki and Vasudeva, but he was brought up by Yashoda and Nanda Gopa in the present day Mathura at Uttar Pradesh.

During his childhood itself, he performed childhood plays, done lot of miracles and also killed various dreaded demons. He had incarnated in this earth in order to maintain peace and prosperity in this earth, remove the evil thoughts in our minds, and also to invoke the bhakti in the minds of the people. He gave his teachings in the form of the holy text “BHAGAVAT GITA”. His birthday is grandly celebrated all over India, as Krishna Jayanti.

In the epic Mahabharata, Lord Krishna is considered as the main hero. He was a good friend and a close relative to the Pandavas, and he respected each and everyone with great respect, without seeing their caste, creed, status, gender and community.

He welcomed the poor Kuchela, his old childhood friend, by keeping him in his memory, which an ordinary person could not do like that. Without seeing his position, he and his consort Mata Rukmini cleaned the legs of Kuchela, provided rich food to him, and also made him rich. Krishna would mainly see the purity of our mind, and would never neglect us, and he would remain in our soul throughout our life, based on our sincere faith and bhakti on him.
We can find lot of good qualities with Lord Krishna, and we cannot find even a small drop of badness with him.

By reading the divine texts, Brahma Vaivarta Purana and the Bhagavata Purana, we can taste the wonderful leelas performed by the divine child Krishna, and also his kindness, humbleness and sweetness can be known.
