We can find the temples of Lord Vinayaka in every nook and corner of India, and especially in South India. Though the temples may vary in its size, like small or big, but the deity present in all those temples contain very good spiritual powers, enough to remove the troubles and turmoil of the devotees, and out of that, The Anegudde Temple is a popular Temple dedicated to Lord Vinayaka, and it is situated at a village in Udupi District, Karnataka.
Anegudde Vinayaka is also famously known as Sri Kumbhashi Vinayaka, since Lord Vinayaka once gave a powerful weapon to Pandava Bheema in order to kill the demon Kumbahasura, and this incident was happened at this place. Anegudde is regarded as one of the seven ‘SALVATION TEMPLES’ of Karnataka. Ganesh Chaturthi and Sankatahara Chaturthi are the most important festivals celebrated at this temple, and during these days, special pujas are being performed, and finally the holy Prasad items would be distributed to the devotees at this temple.
This year (2024) the Vinayaka Chathurthi festival falls on 07th September 2024, which date is supposed to be my English Birth Day! The Temple Vehicle festival (Rathostava) would be held during the time of Vinayaka Chathurti Festival of every year. Vinayaka Chathurti festival was very nicely celebrated with perseverance and enthusiasm by the devotees. Hindus firmly believed that Lord Vinayaka would remove their obstacles, and believed the existence of the first god Vinayaka.
Devotees used to pray to Ganesha in order to get fulfilled their needs and desires. The main purpose of celebrating the Ganesh Chaturthi festival is to get rid from our sins, and to attain good knowledge and wisdom.
During this festival, people from all castes would come forward and would willingly celebrate their beloved god’s festival.
