Aadi Pournami Puja Sathuragiri Temple… Sathuragiri Hill is a holy mountain, which is located near Srivilliputhur, Tamil Nadu. It is also called as Sivan Malai, since it is believed that Lord Shiva dwells in the Mountain temple. In the top of the hill, two famous Shiva temples are located and it is known as Sundara Mahalingam Temple, and Sri Santhana Mahalingam Temple. Devotees used to visit this temple especially on Amavasya and Pournami days.
In the top of the hill, apart from the two Shiva temples, separate shrines for Lord Vinayaka, Lord Muruga, Navagraha Shrines and Shrines for guardian deities like Pechi Amman and Karuppa Swamy are also available.
Some wild animals are also seen in the mountain, and hence we should be very careful, and we should always go in a troupe in order to avoid unnecessary panic during our travel. We can also seek the help of the travel guide during our holy trip, since he would help us for a safe journey, and he would also arrange for performing special pujas inside the temple.
Virudhunagar: More than 12,000 devotees thronged the Sundaramahalingam temple at Sathuragiri in Virudhunagar district on the occasion of Poornima in the month of Aadi (2024).

The forest gate was opened at 6:00 am and they were allowed to climb the mountain. Till 12:00 noon, more than 12,000 people had climbed the hill and devotees were still coming after it.
The streams on the way to the temple were low in water and the sun was scorching.
Poornima special pujas were being performed to Sundara Mahalingam, Santhana Mahalingam and Sundaramoorthy Swamigal in the temple. Devotees stood in long queues to have darshan of the Lord. Annadanam was offered.
Mobile medical teams were on duty at the foot of the hill. Special buses were operated. The arrangements were made by the temple staff under the leadership of trustee Raja Periyasamy and executive officer Ramakrishnan.
