Where is Humanity?

Where is humanity? Nowadays we have to search for humanitarian people, that is, those who show their unlimited kindness on others! Humanity means showing kindness on others! Humanity must be filled in our souls, must be enriched in our body cells, must be filled all over our body, and it should come on its own, since we can’t compel a rude person to show his kindness over others. Nowadays we can find lot of rough and tough, rude and crude persons in the world!

At the present situation, in some places, humanitarian prevails just for name sake! In order to show that they are also humans, some people used to act as humanitarians! Some people used to hide humanity, since it might arise in their minds only at their older age! Sometimes, Humanity cannot be found even with our relatives, since some relatives used to neglect their poor relatives due to their poor status in the society! Nowadays most of them are valued only based on their money power (Vitamin M), and not on their good nature. Long back, when I met one of my father’s friends at Mylapore, before asking me about my whereabouts, that gentleman tried to snatch me out like a dog! Hey who you are? How dare to enter into my home? Go out immediately, or else I would have to call up the police? Then I have told about my personal details, about my father, and about my necessity.

After that, the gentleman made a little smile, take me outside, spoke with me for a few minutes, and even without offering me a glass of water, he said me a dry good bye! Likewise, once, when I went to a rich relative’s home, they didn’t allow me to sleep in one of their beds, and made me to sleep in the floor, and that means, that they would allow only the high-class rich people to sleep on their bed!

Likewise, when I went to a relative’s ceremony, some of the relatives are not interested to offer me food in the first batch, since at that time I have earned only a lower salary! At that time, I have thought about our Holy Guru Raghavendra, who also faced the same kind of situation. Before taking Sanayasa Ashrama, when Venkatanatha (Guru Raghavendra) went to a Bhojanalaya, he was given very odd jobs in that place, before offering him food, and only after he proved his powers, the Bhojanalaya staffs willingly offered him sufficient food! My kind advise to the so-called rich people is, please don’t see the status of the people, be humble, be a human, since after all we are all the servants of the god, and he only is the Richest person in the entire universe. Everyone should realize that our each and every action is being carefully noted down by the god, and no one can escape from his eagle eyes!

Even we can’t find humanity with some of our relatives also, since some of our so-called relatives give us a warm welcome to their homes based only on our financial background! I also had some bitter experience! That’s why nowadays I prefer only the temples as my best second home! Everybody knows about death! But even after knowing about it, some people never think about it, or even if they think, they never want to change their bad habits! If we go through the details of saints, most of them are poor only, but they have got abundant grace with god! We can quote few of the saints like Tukaram, Namdev and Savatamali who used to provide food to the devotees of Panduranga in their homes, without any hesitation.

My sincere advice to everyone is, please increase your values not in terms of money, but in terms of showing harmony, make a friendly smile even before a beggar, consider everyone as the children of the god, and last but not the least, always do pleasant things which are most liked by the god.
