Vasantha Utsavam at Tirunagari Kalyana Ranganatha Perumal Temple

Vasantha Utsavam at Tirunagari Kalyana Ranganatha Perumal Temple..

A large number of devotees participated in the Vasantha Utsavam held during May 2024, at Sri Kalyana Ranganatha Perumal Temple in Tirunagari.

Kalyana Ranganatha Perumal temple is in Tirunagari near Thiruvenkadu. The temple is one of the 108 Vaishnava Divya Desam temples. The temple is 1000 years old and was consecrated by Thirumangai Alwar and Kulasekhara Alwar. There is a shrine for Yoga Narasimha. Sri Tirumangai Alwar graces from a separate shrine. The Vasantha Utsavam is celebrated in the temple during the Agni Nakshathiram (May month) period.

Accordingly, Perumal and Tirumangai Azhwar appeared in the garden on the occasion of the beginning of Agni star. This was followed by recitation by the Bhattacharyas. This was followed by Deeparadhana. A large number of devotees participated in the procession. Perumal and Tirumangai Alwar grace the devotees in the garden till the end of Agni star.

Vasantha Utsavam is performed in order to show our love and gratitude towards the deities, since through their blessings only we are able to survive in this world. God has created us, and make us to take each and every step in our life. He is omnipotent, who dwells in our heart also. We can consider him as our own mother, father, child and friend also. Similar to creating happiness in the minds of our children, by the way of doing Vasantha Utsavam, we are pleasing the deities who are decorated with fragrant flowers. We are honouring them, and showing our bhakti by the way of doing this kind of Utsavam.

At this present-day world, we can get happiness only by the way of pleasing the gods and goddesses, and by the way of participating in various Utsavams, like Vasantha Utsavam, performed at the temples. If we wilfully do this type of act, then happiness would freely flow in our minds like a vast ocean, and thereafter, we could lead a happy and a stress-free life.
