Today, 17 September 2014 is Vishwakarma Puja, Biswakarma Diwas, a day to worship Lord Vishwakarma, the Hindu God of architecture and engineering.
Biswakarma Diwas is celebrated mainly in industrial towns of West Bengal, Orissa, Tripura, Assam and some other Eastern and Northern states of India.
Lord Vishwakarma is the divine architect, designer, craftsman and creator of mythological constructions. As per Hindu Mythology or religious history, Bishwakarma has created many weapons, buildings, and missiles.
Viswakarma is associated with the creation of ‘Vajrayudh from the bones of Dadhichi. Hindu Mythology says that Biswakarma has designed and constructed the whole universe, heaven and all lokas.
