Vishnu Saptami is performed on the seventh day of bright half of Margashirsha Month. In 2025, Vishnu Saptami date is November 27.

Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are worshipped on Vishnu Saptami as a great symbolic significance – Vishnu is none other than Shiva and vice versa.

Shodashopachara Puja is offered to Lord. Special food offerings (Naivedyam) are offered.

Vishnu Sahasranama stotram, Ashtakshari Mantram and Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya are the main prayers to chant on Vishnu Saptami Vrata.

Vishnu Saptami is also observed as Bhadraa Saptami, Nanda Saptami, Nimba Saptami and Mitra Saptami.

This festival is dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu and is marked by special pujas and prayers to invoke both Vishnu and Shiva, symbolizing the unity of both deities.​
