Doshams are the sufferings faced by the humans due to certain bad karmic acts done in their previous births. Doshams are several types such as: Navagraha Dosham, Pitru Dosham, Sarpa Dosham etc.

These doshams create lot of problems in the life of the people, and they would not be able to do their daily activities properly. It may result in losing interest in the studies of the children, and causing loss of memory, poor memory, showing no interest in normal activities, unnecessarily scolding others, unnecessary fear in mind, suffering from diseases, accidents, stress, tensions, worries, sadness, failure in career and marriage life, losing their wealth due to bad activities etc.

TEMPLES FAMOUS FOR DOSHA NIVARANA PUJAS

Naga dosham also known as Rahu dosha, Sarpa dosha and Kala Sarpa Dosha occurs in the horoscope of a person when he has killed or caused harm to serpents in his previous births. Snakes are to be considered as respectful worshipful deities and they contain great powers, and the details about them are mentioned in our holy texts.

We can see snakes dwelling in the body of Lord Shiva, Vinayaka and it acts as a divine bed for Lord Vishnu. In order to get rid from the Naga Dosham, we must have to do Naga Shanti Homams in the temples like Kukke Subramanya Temple, Karnataka, Ananda Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Kerala, Kalahasteeswara Swamy Temple, Andhra Pradesh, Thirunageswaram Rahu Bhagavan Temple, near Kumbakonam, Thirupampura Nathar Temple near Kumbakonam and Nagarcoil Nagaraja Temple.

Pitru Dosham occurs to the people due to the Karmic debts of their ancestors. Pitru Dosham is found in a person’s horoscope, when his ancestors have committed sins in their past births, or when he has insulted his parents or his grand-parents in his past births. Due to this Dosham, people would suffer from lot of problems like poor health, mental instability, disinterest in studies, frequent change of jobs, marriage failure etc. This Dosham can be rectified by visiting the Parihara Temples like Rameshwaram, Kashi and Gaya, and they must sincerely worship the deities. In those holy places, they have to provide Annadanam to at least 100 people, in order to get rid from the ill effects of the Pitru Dosham.

Navagraha Dosha occurs to a person, when the planets in his horoscope are found to be in an unfavourable positioning. It can be rectified to some extent by visiting the Navagraha Temples in Tamil Nadu, near Kumbakonam, such as Dharbaranyeswara Temple, Thirunallar, Alangudi, Dakshinamoorthy Temple, Vasishteswarar Temple, Tittai, Sooriyanar Temple, Suryanar Koil, Sukran Temple, Kanjanur, Chandran Temple, Thingalur, Vaidyeeswarar Temple, Vaiteeswaran Koil, Budan Temple, Thiruvenkadu, and also by reciting the Mantras of Ma Shakti Devi, since she is considered to be the controller of the Navagrahas, and due to that, she is also called as Navagraha Nayaki.

The nine planets are Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu. Those who suffer from Navagraha Dosha would suffer from lot of hardships in their life like unemployment problems, poor health problems and problems due to shortage of finance etc. These doshams can also be solved by performing Navagraha Homams in the temples, by appointing a suitable priest or a Vedic scholar for the performance of the Homans. These Pujas would bring peace of mind and we would be relieved from the diseases, and we would be able to lead our life comfortably and happily.

Mangalya Dosham occurs to the girl in her horoscope, when she has not performed Sumangali Puja in her previous births. Even if the girl gets married and enters into her in-laws house, and if she suffers from Mangalya Dosham, then the health condition of her husband as well as her father-in-law would become worse. Sumangali means a married lady, whose husband is still alive, and the Sumangali puja is being performed in order to get the blessings of their female ancestors, and it is being done by the Sumangalies for the well-being of their consorts.

In order to get rid from the evil effects of Mangalya Dosham, the girl must visit temples like Kalyanasundarar Temple, Thirumanancheri, Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala, and any other Durga Devi temples and Lakshmi Devi Temples present in India.

Those who suffer from Mangalya Dosham can also help in the marriage of poor girls, by providing them the holy Mangalsutra at their own cost. They can also donate money to some institutions                    those who used to perform marriages to the poor girls by collecting donations from the public.

Kanya Dosha is a type of dosha which occurs due to insults made to females by the males during their past births. Kanya Dosham also would occur to a person, if he tortured his wife in his past birth, and as a result, his sins would continue even in the present birth.

Brahmahathi Dosham is one among the several kinds of Doshams like Naga Dosham, Navagraha Dosham and Pitru Dosham. Among the various Doshams, Brahmahathi Dosham is considered as very severe Dosham, and it would create lot of problems to the person who suffers from this Dosham.

In general Brahmahathi Dosham would enter in a person’s body, if he kills any cow or Brahmin during his present or past births. Cow is considered as the worshipful Holy Mother Kamadhenu, and it gives milk, and even the by- product of the cow is also used as Ayurveda Medicine. Brahmins are also considered as very pious and precious people, since they chant the Vedic mantras and they properly follow the Hindu rituals and also they are participating in the Puja and Homams of the deities performed in the temples.

Oh Ma Lakshmi, You have been popularly worshipped by your devotees, in various names such as Adi Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Veera Lakshmi, Jaya Lakshmi and Vidhya Lakshmi.

Oh Ma Lakshmi, you contain the features of your consort Lord Vishnu, and you contain the powers of Lord Brahma, you are the one, who smiles gently, who is covered with rich ornaments and garments, who is very benevolent to your devotees, who is seated on the big lotus flower and whose complexion is very fair.

Oh Goddess Lakshmi, every day, I offer you pure ghee in the fire rituals, I chant the Vedic Mantras, please accept the oblation derived from the fire sacrifices, and grant me all sorts of goodness in my life.

Oh Goddess Lakshmi, your face appears like the Divine Parijatha flower! Your eyes look like a lotus petal! You are very near and dear to your true devotees. Please place your lotus hands on my head and bless me.

Those who consider themselves as learned ones, those who wishes to gain more knowledge, wisdom and courage, should gently bow his  head, before Lord Ganapathi who is the son of Ma Parvathi and Parameshwara.

Let’s think first the elephant god before our every activity, who has broken tusk, who is kind to his devotees and cruel towards his enemies, who is the remover of obstacles, who is the head of the army of Lord Shiva, who is worshipped by millions and millions of his devotees, who is chief among the gods, who likes the Mothakams so much, who would always achieve whatever he wants, who gives good education and knowledge, who gives good health with sufficient wealth, who blesses us for getting a pious child, who gives salvation, who is the brother of Lord Muruga and Dharma Shasta, who was the slayer of Mushikasura and Gajamukasusra, who contains a fat belly, who looks strange but very beautiful in appearance, who likes to ride his wonderful vehicle Mooshika, who is very fond to his devotees like Sage Purushundi and Vallalla, who removes the troubles and turmoil of his devotees within a fraction of seconds, who wore a beautiful snake on his stomach.

Those who chant the above prayer, consecutively for twelve Chaturthi days, would
get all of reasonable wishes fulfilled, and there is no doubt about this. Hence let us read this wonderful Sri Ganesa Suktam on a daily basis in order to put an end to our sufferings.

Oh our beloved Lord Sarabeswara, You contains sparkling eyes, your body parts look like powerful weapons, You contains the powers of Ma Kali and Durga on your wings, your chest is occupied with Lord Bhairava. You appears very ferocious enough to control Lord Narasimha, and your body glitters like the gold.

Oh our beloved Lord Sarabeswara, your body appears like the Holy Himalayas, and your ornaments contains the brightness equivalent to millions and millions of suns.

Oh our beloved Lord Sarabeswara, you are the Lord of the Lords, your abundant powers are spread throughout the universe, and you are the very powerful avatar of Lord Shiva.
