Taraka Brahma Temple, Alampur

Taraka Brahma Temple (Taraka brahmeshwara swamy Temple) is one of the Navabrahma Temples located at Alampur. Navabrahmeshwara Swamy Temples is a group of famous Temples. Alampuram also has the Ashtadasha Shakti Peetha Temple of Jogulamba Devi.

The Taraka Brahma temple differs from all the other Nava Brahma group of shrines, because it is built in the mergent southern style. It has a garbhagriha, an antarala and a porch. Except for the Devakoshtha in the center of each of the three walls of the garbhagriha, the large blocks of stone don’t carry any relief. There is an image of Paralambapadalakshmi on the antarala doorway. The top consisting of Sala, Kudu and Panjaran can be graduating towards the gopuram style.

The most well known even of the city is the car festival of Sri Ajaneyaswami, which is celebrated for eight days from Margasira Suddha Triodasi, which usually falls during November-December, is one of the most important festivals and is also well-attended. Devotees celebrate Dasara Navaratri and Shivaratri as main festivals.
