It is not easy to become a saint. For becoming a saint, we need to possess certain important qualities like kindness, generosity, wisdom, courage and divinity. In the present situation, sometimes, most of us would think to run away from our family life, and to adopt a saintly life. But even if we become a saint, it is very difficult for us, to survive in the spiritual field, since even after entering into that holy field we have to face lot of hardships in our life. Sometimes, we might get threat from other religious people, and with their big influence, even we might get arrested on false charges.
Even during the period of Guru Raghavendra Swamy, a great Madhwa Saint and a pious Guru, he was questioned by some non-believers of god, and he was also tested by them. But with a smiling face, he had managed to face those toughest situations very easily. Guru Raghavendra is now worshipped by all sects of people as a “UNIVERSAL GURU”, for showering his unlimited blessings on them.
Likewise, Saibaba of Shirdi also suffered a lot during his period, but with his great courage, he had managed the things very efficiently and effectively. Till his death, he didn’t keep anything for himself, but donated the wealth possessed by him, to the people, very generously. The great saint Ramakrishna, though he has got the opportunity of conversing with Ma Kali Devi, yet he remained as calm, gentle and a simple person till his death.
The great Guru Ramana of Thiruvanamalai, is still praised for his simple and for his holistic life. All of these saints were able to manage the situations easily, due to their divine powers. Famous saints like Guru Raghavendra, Shirdi Saibaba, Guru Ramana and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa contains the features of the almighty, and hence they were able to live a very pious and a pure life. But, if normal persons like us, tries to enter into the divine field, then it would become very difficult for us. For becoming a pontiff in the Mutts also requires lot of Vedic education, patience and other qualities. Or otherwise, if we want to settle down peacefully in the Holy Himalayas, then also, it is very difficult for us, due to the lack of proper food and shelter facilities, changes in climatic conditions and fear from wild animals attack, fear from terrorists and from tribal people.
Hence, instead of preferring to become a full-fledged saint, we can adopt the qualities of a saint even in our normal life itself. During the period of Ramakrishna, he has got lot of family men as his disciples. For adopting the good qualities of a saint, we must adopt strict patience, perfection, discipline, and we must mingle with all sorts of people in a friendly and in a jovial manner, by making them to realise that we are also one among them.
