Spiritual Bondage

Spiritual bondage means, “Binding ourselves with the thoughts on the almighty, and becoming his permanent slave.” In general, if we use the word bondage for some other things like labour bondage or business bondage, it does not taste good. Whereas, if we use the word Spiritual bondage, our hearts would be filled up with full of joy and each and every soul is actually aiming to attain spiritual bondage only.

Labour bondage means working under an employer for a particular period of time, and by signing in the agreement, the labourers are become servants to their employers. Till the time of completion of the contract, they have to faithfully serve their masters, and must follow their instructions. But in case of harassment at work place, then the labourers can file a complaint in the Labour department offices.

Family bondage means taking care of our parents, wife and children. In general, no one can escape from family bondage, since it is our duty to look after our own family members. Till the time of our death, we have to sincerely serve them, and must provide all sorts of facilities to them.

Business bondage means becoming addicted with business activities by the business men, by working in their own company for a long time, always thinking only about the development of business and forgetting about other things in their life. Due to that, family problems would arise and frequent quarrels would also be made with their family members, and the business people would lose their peace of mind.

But if we take spiritual bondage into consideration, there is no need to serve to the god for long hours, and we can serve him based on our own interest. And while serving him, we won’t get any scolding from him. Whatever we serve whether less or more, he would accept it with his gentle smile, and would satisfy our reasonable needs.

The famous saint Saibaba, though he was a great saint but removed the wounds of the lepers and applied medicine on the wounded parts of their body. He has done so, since they have kept great faith on him and due to their spiritual bondage with him, Shri ShirdiSainath had done all these types of services to them in his life.

Serving the god means worshipping him, perform pujas, doing Archanai and Abhishekham, chanting of mantras and singing songs in praise of him. Spiritual bondage would relieve us from the chain of birth cycles, and would make us to permanently merge with the almighty. In the abode of god, we would not suffer from hunger, thirst or from any other sort of physical or mental sickness. We would get a shining body, and we would always be in a happy state of mind.

Hence let us develop spiritual bondage with the almighty, by thinking him, worshipping him, and by always remembering him.
