Singhara Teej (Sindhara Teej)

Singhara Teej (Sindhara Teej) is observed in Shravan Month in Rajasthan, UP, Madhya Pradesh and some other parts of Central India and North India. In 2012, Singhara Teej date is July 22. It falls on Shukla Paksha Tritiya in Sawan Maas as per Hindi calendars.

Singhara Teej is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The divine couple is worshipped with Shodashopachar and offered special recipes as naivedya.

Both married and unmarried women celebrate Singhara Teej festival with utmost gaiety. Singhara Teej is also referred to as Hariyali Teej, Choti Teej, Teejan and Sindhara Teej Vrat.
