Once, an owl and an eagle claimed a small hole as their own place. Then Rama went to the place, checked the hole, and there he found, that the hole appears to be a small one, and finally he decided that the hole belongs only to the owl. When Rama was about to punish the eagle, he heard a divine voice from the sky, and the voice told, that the eagle was a famous king, and due to the curse of a sage, it took the form of an eagle, and it asked Rama to touch the eagle in order to brought back to its original form. Rama also done like that, and then the eagle had become a handsome king, worshipped Rama, and went back to rule his own kingdom.
CASE NO.3
Once when Lord Rama was sitting in his court, an aged Brahmin came to see him along with his wife, and he began to weep, since he has lost his only son in an accident. On knowing about this, Lord Rama went to many places in the earth, in order to find out whether any sinful person lives! At last, after a long search, finally Lord Rama found a person near a pond, who was meditating deeply. And when Rama had seen the face of the person, he immediately realized that he was a bad person. Then Rama chopped the head of the person and made him to die. And when he returned to his kingdom, he found that the boy who was believed to be dead has brought back to life, during the time, when Lord Rama has killed the bad person.
As per the instructions of Lord Rama, his brother Lakshmana had dropped Ma Sita at the forest, and there she safely stayed in Rishi Valmiki’s Ashram. After that, Lakshmana returned to Ayodhya, and informed the details to Lord Rama. Both of them were worried about the pathetic condition of Ma Sita, and in order to forget their grief temporarily, Lord Rama began to tell some marvellous stories to Lakshmana, and Lakshmana has also began to eagerly listen to it, and those stories are given below:
STORY NO.1
Once upon a time, there lived a famous king known as Nirugan. He was a good king who contains the features like generosity, purity and righteousness. Once he went to the banks of the holy Pushkar River, and gave several cows as donation to the Brahmin scholars, and at the time of giving donation, accidently he has donated a cow which belonged to a poor Brahmin. Since he has donated large number of cows, he was unable to recognise his mistake.
In course of time, the poor Brahmin was able to find his cow, which was tied in another Brahmin’s house. When he claimed the cow to be his own, the other Brahmin didn’t accept it, and hence they went to the King Nirugan’s palace and they were waiting there for a long time. Since they were unable to see the king, both of them cursed the king to transform in the form of a chameleon and then they donated the cow to another poor Brahmin and after that, they went to their respective places.
Since Nirugan was cursed by the Brahmins, he has transformed into a chameleon and he began to live in a hole. After living in the hole for a long time, finally, his curse was relieved during the previous Dwapara Yuga, when Lord Krishna has gently touched and lifted him from the pit.
