Reception of Thanka Anki is being performed at many temples towards Sabarimala from Aranmula from December 23 to December 26, 2014.
Thousands of devotees participated in the reception accorded to the Thanka Anki procession at various temples on Wednesday.
The procession, which left Omallur Sree Rakthakandaswami temple at 7 am, was accorded a traditional reception on its arrival at Kodumthara Sree Subrahmanya Swami temple under the auspices of the Kodumthara Haindava Seva Samithi.
Later, the procession reached at Pathanamthitta Sree Dharma Sastha temple, where it was received with chendamelam, pancharimelam and sinkarimelam.
From Pathanamthitta temple, the procession moved on to Karimpanackal temple and subsequently to Mudukottackal Saradamadom and Kadammanitta Devi temples. Rush of devotees was witnessed in the temples to receive the procession.
After leaving Kadmmanitta, the procession visited Mekozhur Rishikesa temple, Mylapra Devi temple and Vettur Sree Mahavishnu temple before halting at Konni Muringamangalam Sree Mahadeva temple on the second day.
The Thanka Anki procession will halt on the third day at Perunad Sree Dharma Sastha temple and on the concluding on December 26, the procession will reach Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple at 6 pm and deeparadhana will be conducted after adorning the anki on the idol of Lord Ayyappa at 6.30 pm.
