Kumbha Masam Puja at Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple (February 2020)

Kumbha Sankranti or Kumbha Sankramanam is the first day of Kumbha Masam in Malayali calendar. In Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, Kumbha masam puja is observed for six days. In 2020, Kumbha masam puja dates are from February 13 to February 18.

Every month, monthly pujas are performed to Lord Sabarimala Ayyappa. Special pujas like archanas, abhishegam, and stotra parayana are performed during Kumbha masa pooja. Tens of thousands of devotees participate in Ayyappa puja in Sabarimala Temple.

Sabarimala Temple Puja dates in February 2020

Temple Opening date – 13 February 2020, 5 PM

Temple Closing date – 18 February 2020, 10 PM

Sabarimala Temple’s February 2020 Puja falls in Magha Masam as per Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati and Marathi calendars and in Phalgun Month as per North Indian Hindi calendars. In Tamil calendars, this puja coincides with Maasi Masam.

Meena masam 2020 Ayyappa puja dates – March 13 to March 18, 2020. Ayyappa Jayanthi is observed in Meena masam in Malayalam calendar.

In 2018, Shivaratri has fallen during Kumbha Masam Puja hence it had great significance and spiritual importance for Sabarimala Ayyappa puja.

    hello sir. we are going to sabarimala for darsghan on 19 march. will pilgrims be allowed for darshan till march 30. We are starting from Hyderabad by road on 17th march morning, thinking that temple closes on 19th march.Please give us information about darshan after 19th march, so that we can go to guruvayoor and other temples and come to sabarimala.I have been searching for this information past 10 days, but you have a clarified article.Please help us by providing information about darshan to pilgrims after 19 march.Thanking You.
