Prahlad Ghat

The Prahlad Ghat is a Holy Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Bhakta Prahlada, son of Hiranyakashipu, and the great Vishnu Devotee, and it is situated in Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh. The ghat is located along with Narsimha temple.

As per the holy Puranas, Hardoi was once ruled by the demon king Hiranyakashipu, and he was considered as an enemy of Lord Hari. His son Prahlad was an ardent devotee of Lord Hari, and due to that, his father Hiranyakashipu tried to kill him, and asked his sister Holika to throw his son Prahlad in fire. But Prahlad was protected by the fire god Agni Bhagavan, and instead of that, Lord Agni Dev burnt his aunt Holika and destroyed her. As a proof of this incident, a temple was built for Prahlad, which is situated in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.

Among the Hindu festivals, Holi is the main festival celebrated at the Prahlad Temple. People used to worship the great Vishnu Devotee Bhakta Prahlad along with Lord Narasimha.

It is believed that those who visit and worships Bhakta Prahlada at this temple, would be relieved from their sorrows, and can live their life happily and peacefully with good health and sufficient wealth.

According to ancient texts, it is believed that worshipping Bhakta Prahlada is equivalent to worshipping Lord Narasimha. Hence it is suggested for the Vishnu Devotees, to visit this holy place at least once in their life time, and can have the divine vision of Bhakta Prahlad and Lord Narasimha.
