Kodunkundram (piraanmalai) temple is located at a distance of about 24 km northwest of Thiruputhur. Poovananathar Temple, Thirupuvanam temple is situated at a distance of nearly 19 km east of Madurai on the banks of Vaigai.
There are plenty of buses towards Tiruvadanai(Thiru Aadaanai) temple available from Karaikkudi, Devakottai and Madurai. Thiruchuzhial, Thiruchuzhi temple is located at a distance of about 48 km south of Madurai. Thirukkanapper, Kalayar Koil temple is located at a distance of about 18 km east of Sivaganga. Tiruttalinathar temple, Thiruputhur temple is situated at a distance of nearly 20 km west of Karaikkudi and Thiruppunavayil temple is located at a distance of about 25 km south Aavudayar Koil.
