In South India, nine types of Naivedyam (food offerings) are offered to Goddess Durga during Navaratri. In 2025, Navratri begins on September 22 and ends on October 2.
As the nine Goddesses to worship differ from place to place and state to state, naivedyam also differs.
Usually, Navadurga are worshipped as Navadevi in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and some temples in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Nine days of Prakrithi Worship is a subtle symbolism of the three stages, struggle, harmonization and maturity, through which "atman" passes through in its life cycle. The vibrant dance of God mother regimented for human worship. On the tenth day the victory over maya; and the salvation is celebrate. What a wonderful rhythmic annual arrangement for soul searching. I salute our sagacious elders and prostate before them.
Hi,
Thank.. It’s very nice information. I won’t to do this year 1st time. I won’t to know more about this pooja. I can do this pooja, in our home its 1st time? And if I start I have do continuesly very year?
Please advise me.
Om. There is nothing like, you should do it every year. But, its better if you ask your elders about Navratri Puja. If they have in their tradition, you can start it. Some families have some sentiments about Navratri Puja.
The dates are really confusing….22nd oct is the festival day rajarajeswari alamkaram….but you are showing 21st…what should be the prasadam offered for swarna kavacha alankrita durga devi on first day?
