Lets offer Silk Kaupeenam to Palani Murugan.. Let’s cheerfully offer silk Kaupeenam (Ancient under wear) to Lord Palani Murugan also famously called as Lord Dhandayudapani Swamy, in order to sanctify Lord Muruga.

As per ancient legend, due to the Mango issue, Lord Muruga had playfully removed his costly garments, and wore only a Kaupeenam, an under wear item, left from Mount Kailasha and settled down at Palani. This act was mischievously done by our Dear Lord Muruga, in order to establish an earthly abode for him. Later when his father and mother convinced him, Lord Muruga had left his aspect at Palani Hill Temple, and then he went along with his parent, Shiva and Parvati, to the Holy Kailash Mountain.

At present, at the Palani Murugan Temple, daily free food is being provided to about 200 devotees in the noon and lot of devotees contributes money and also in the form of material to this wonderful food donation scheme. Apart from giving either money or in the form of material to this food donation scheme, devotees of Lord Muruga can also offer some nice silk Kaupeenams in order to adorn it to Lord Palani Murugan, to make the six faced god to attain happiness.

As per legend, Lord Palani Murugan has also appeared in the dream of some of his staunch devotees, and insisted them to offer only silk Kaupeenams for him, though they were ready to offer any other costliest items for Lord Muruga!

As per the words of Lord Krishna, “I am ready to accept even a small piece of Tulsi leaf from my Devotee”, likewise, Lord Palani Murugan also willfully accepts even the small offerings of Silk Kaupeenams from his devotees, since these items would not cost much, and it can be offered even by the poor devotees.

At this present Kaliyuga, we can find great happiness only by the way of pleasing the almighty, and one such act is to glorify Lord Muruga of Palani Hills by the way of offering his much interested item, “THE SILK KAUPEENAM”.
