Based on the Temple Agamas and traditions, Alankaras keep changing year by year due to different Nakshatras on each day of Navaratri. The list of alankaras may not be same every year.
where is chavathi and katyayani devi alankaram in 2025 navarathri?
5th day is Sree Lalitha Devi…here it’s showing Saraswati..
Vijayawada Dasara Navaratri is a significant festival celebrated in Vijayawada, a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a grand event that marks the worship of Goddess Durga during the nine-day festival of Navaratri.
Here are some key aspects of Vijayawada Dasara Navaratri:
Goddess Kanaka Durga: The main deity worshipped during Dasara Navaratri in Vijayawada is Goddess Kanaka Durga. She is believed to be the benevolent form of Goddess Durga, who blesses her devotees with prosperity and well-being.
Celebrations: The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion by the locals. There are elaborate decorations, cultural programs, and religious rituals that take place throughout the nine days.
Devi Navaratri Mahotsavams: The festivities include Devi Navaratri Mahotsavams, which are cultural and religious celebrations held at the Kanaka Durga Temple. These include Veda Pandits chanting hymns, processions of the deity, and various traditional performances.
Theppotsavam: A highlight of the Vijayawada Dasara Navaratri is the grand procession of the deity on a boat (Theppotsavam) on the Krishna River. This event draws thousands of devotees who come to witness and participate in the celebrations.
In Dasara Navaratri celebrations, especially in places like Vijayawada, different alankarams (decorations or adornments) of the deity are done on each day of the festival. This practice has several reasons and significances:
Symbolism and Mythological Stories: Each alankaram represents a different aspect or form of the Goddess Durga or the divine energy (Shakti) she embodies. For example, the deity may be adorned as Lalitha Tripura Sundari, Saraswati, Annapurna, etc., each highlighting a specific attribute or manifestation of the Goddess.
Variety and Diversity: Navaratri celebrates the diversity and richness of the divine feminine. By showcasing different alankarams, the festival emphasizes the multiplicity of qualities and forms that Goddess Durga embodies, catering to the spiritual and emotional needs of various devotees.
Spiritual Evolution: The progression of alankarams over the nine days symbolizes the spiritual journey of the devotee.
