Chakradhari | Lord Vishnu with Sudarshana Chakra

Chakradhari denotes Lord Vishnu, the one who holds the Divine Sudarshana Chakra in one of his hands, and the holy Chanku in his another hand, and he is also called as Shanku Chakradhari.

Sudarshana Chakra is given good importance in the Puranas, since only through the use of this divine weapon Lord Vishnu had destroyed lot of demons, and maintained peace and prosperity in the entire universe. Sudarshana is praised by the holy sages, saints and by the divine devas in the heaven, for its excellent powers.

Ancient saints consider Sudarsasa similar to Lord Vishnu, and they have sung lot of songs by mentioning the significance of Sudarsana. Sudarshana Homam is also very popular since ancient times, and by doing that, we would get good health, wealth and all kinds of prosperity in our lives. Sudarsana was born as Shatrugna in the Treta Yuga, and wilfully served Lord Rama.

There is a famous Sri Sudarsana Kavacham, which is recited by the Vaishnavites, for getting better prospects in their lives.

Sri Sudarshana Kavacham

Sudarsana is the Divine weapon of Lord Vishnu. The Sudarshana Chakra was created by Lord Vishwakarma, and Sudarshana is also called as Chakrathazhwar.

There is a popular Sudarshana Kavacham, and by reciting it, we would get goodness in our lives.

The contents present in the Kavacham are as follows:-

Oh Lord Sudharshana, you are very pure and wonderful and you are capable of granting boons to your devotees.

Oh Lord Sudharshana, you are worshipped by the Divine Devas in the heaven, and even by Lord Brahma.

On Lord Sudarshana, similar to destroying the enemies of Lord Vishnu please destroy our bad habits like lust, anger and greed.

Oh Lord Sudarshana, though you have killed innumerable demons in the battle field, but you could not kill the great Bhagavatha, Prahalada, since he is your devotee also.

Oh Lord Sudarshana, please give me great strength in my mind and body and help me to cross the ocean of life, and make me to attain salvation after my death.

Oh Lord Sudarsana, since you always dwell in the hands of Lord Vishnu, you contain extraordinary powers, similar to Vishnu.

Oh Lord Sudarshana, let the diseases present in my body be destroyed through your grace.

Oh Lord Sudarshana,please remove the illusions and make us to become your sincere devotees.

Oh Lord Sudarshana, You are the most favourite weapon of Lord Vishnu, and you are exhibiting your full powers during the times of battles.

Oh Lord Sudarshana, you are considered as the favourite son of Lord Vishnu and Ma Lakshmi, and you have been praised in the divine worlds, and all the gods, demi gods, and saints are chanting your mantras and praising about your glories.
