The major Dashain (Bada Dashain) festival is observed during Ashwin Navratri.
Goddess Bhagavati is worshipped with utmost gaiety on Chaite Dashain but in lesser scale when compared to Bada Dashain. Animal sacrifices are performed during this festival in Nepal.
