Lord Shiva took the form of a young bachelor (Brahmachari), when Ma Sati (An aspect of Ma Shakti Devi) took birth as Parvati Devi, and her parents were King Himavan and Ma Menavati. After reaching her teenage, Parvati Devi went to the holy Himalayas, and began to perform meditation on Lord Shiva. Pleased by her devotion, Lord Shiva appeared before her, in the form of a young bachelor, and began to talk badly about Lord Shiva, in order to test her devotion on Shiva. On hearing his words, Ma Parvati become very angry, and exchanged harsh words with him.
After playing with her for some time, Lord Shiva had revealed his true form, blessed Ma Parvati, and after a short period, he took her to the Holy Mountain Kailash, the divine abode of Lord Shiva. This Brahmachari form of Lord Shiva is considered as one of the greatest avatars of Lord Shiva, and we can find the pictures of Brahmachari form of Shiva in a famous Shiva Temple, which is known as Kachaleeswarar Temple, and it is situated in Armenian Street, Parrys, nearby Canara Bank, Chennai – 600 001.
Even the immortals like Ma Shakti Devi must have to come down to the earth, even if she commits a small mistake. The punishment is awarded to her by Lord Shiva, in order to make her into more pious, and also to fetch her good name and fame amongst her devotees. It is also believed that Ma Shakti Devi took various avatars in the earth, in order to prove her great Pati Bhakti and Shiva Bhakti to the entire universe.
Bachelors those who want to get married soon, must have to specifically worship Lord Brahmachareeshwara, a bachelor form of Lord Shiva. In spite of our frequent sufferings in the earth, let us show our sincere love and affection on the divine couple, Shiva and Shakti, since, only our divine parents knew perfectly about us rather than any one in the world.
