Bohag Bihu 2012 date is 14 April. Bohag Bihu or Rongali Bihu is the Assamese New Year celebrated. The next day of Mesha Sankraman marks the beginning of New Year in Assamese Hindu calendar. Bihu in April is celebrated for more than 3 days. Goru Bihu (13 April 2011) is the last day of previous year and is celebrated by worshipping cows.
Manuh Bihu is the main Rongali Bihu. Assamese Special recipes called Pitha, Jolpan, and Larus are prepared and distributed among their friends.
