‘A’ for Ayyappa.. While teaching the English alphabets to our children, instead of giving the same and the old meaning again and again, such ‘A’ as apple, ‘B’ for ball, let us give the alphabets a different and nice meaning, that is,keeping the names of our Hindu deities for the alphabets, such as ‘A’ for Ayyappa, ‘B’ for Brahma, like that, so that the children could be able to recite the names of our beloved deities from their childhood itself. But it all depends on the own interest of the parents, and there is no compulsion in that, since alphabets would be taught by the parents belonging to different religions.

Even after India was freed from the British Government, still we are naming our children only in English, and also calling their names in a short manner. For Example, we are shrinking the name of Anandanarayanan into Anand, Ramakrishnan into Ramakrish like that. We should realize that at the present Kaliyuga, chanting of NAMAVALI of the deities is considered to be a good act.Hence, by keeping the deities name to our children, we would get an opportunity to recite the wonderful names of the gods and goddesses regularly. But most of us are ignoring that, due to naming our children in a stylish manner.

People those who get converted into other religions used to change their names as John Ganapathy, Albert Hari and Mary Lakshmi like that. Though people’s conversion to other religions is purely based on their own faith, but by adding a different name before the names of our Hindu deities could be cumbersome to call their names.

As per the saying of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavat Gita, “During the Kali Yuga, most of the people would be subject to worldly illusions, and it is very difficult for them to come out from that. Unless they consider me as the True god, they would never learn the principles of Dharma. I can’t spoon feed to each and every people in the world, and it is not my duty also. Based on my valuable teachings, they should decide, what to do, when to do and how to do. Those who call me my names with bhakti would be blessed by me, and would always be protected by me”.
