Shravana Masam, Sravan month, is the 5th month in traditional Telugu calendar followed in Andhra Pradesh. Sravana masam 2014 starts on July 27 and ends on August 25 with Shravana Amavasya. In Andhra Pradesh, Sravanamasam is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Gauri.

Nagula Panchami, Mangala Gauri Vratham, Varalakshmi Vratham, Rakhi Purnima, Sri Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, Sravana Shukravara Lakshmi Puja, and Polala Amavasya Polamba Vratham are the major festivals during Shravan month in Andhra Pradesh.

Telugu Shravanamasa Shukla Paksham begins on July 27 and ends on August 10 in 2014.

Telugu Sravanamasa Krishna paksham starts on begins on August 11 and ends on August 25..

Shravana masa Shukla paksham is very auspicious than Krishna paksha. Each day in this fortnight is dedicated a God. In many temples special pujas and celebrations are held in Shravan masam in Andhra Pradesh. In Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Pavitrotsavam is held in Shravan month.

  1. Shravan Somvaram Shiva Puja is performed on Mondays in Shravana Masam. Shravana somavaram 2014 dates – July 28, August 4, August 11, August 18 & August 25.
  2. Mangala Gauri Puja is the main ritual of Shravana Mangalvaram (Tuesdays in Shravana masam). Mangala Gauri Puja 2014 dates – 29 July, August 5, August 12 & August 19.
  3. Shravana Shukravaram (Fridays in Shravana Masam) are dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi Puja. Varalakshmi Puja is observed on second Friday in this month (August 8). Shravana Shukravaram Lakshmi Puja 2014 dates are – August 1, August 8, August 15 and August 22.
