Shravan Shanivar | Saturdays in Shravan Month

Shravan Shanivar (Saturdays in Shravan Month) are also auspicious for Shravan Maas vrat & pujas. Sawan Shaniwar is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Shani Bhagavan and Lord Balaji (Venkateshwara Swamy). In 2017, Shravan Shanivar dates are: 29 July, August 5, August 12 and August 19 as per Amavasyant Panchanga.

In Maharashtra & some places of Gujarat, Shravan Shanivar is dedicated for Ashwattha Maruthi Pujan. Ashwattha Vriksha and Lord Hanuman are worshipped and offered special naivedya.

Shani Puja is observed on Sawan Shanivar. Those who are suffering from Shani Dosha would perform Shani Shanti Pujan to pacify Shani’s effect. In Shani Shingnapur temple Abhishek and other special pujas are observed.

Lord Balaji (Venkateshwara Swamy) is worshipped on Saturdays in Sawan Maas. Venkateshwara Swamy Vratham is the main ritual of the day.

As per North Indian Hindi calendars, Shravan Shanivar 2017 dates are – July 15, July 22, July 29 and August 5.
