Gundicha Marjana is the celebration of cleansing of Gundicha Temple on the previous day of Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra. In 2019, Gundicha Marjana date is July 3.
Gundicha temple is the most famous temple associated with Puri Jagannath temple which is located at a distance of 3 kilometers where Lord Jagannath stays for a week during Ratha Yatra festival.
While cleaning the Gundicha temple devotees sing bhajans and dance with devotion. The Marjana or cleaning of the temple is also performed in Mayapur temple.
