Ultorath (Ulta Rathyatra) is the conclusion of Puri Jagannath Rathyatra. In 2022, Ultarath date is July 9. It is the return festival of chariots of Jagannatha, Balabhadra and Subhadra.
Celebrated on the ninth day after Puri Jagannath Rathyatra, Ultorath culminates the festivities of world famous Rathjatra.
After staying for nine days in Gundicha temple, chariots or Ratha begin to move to Puri on Ultarath day.
During Ultarath, the three ratha visit Mausima temple and deities are offered ‘Poda Pitha’, a sweet recipe. The presiding deity of Mausima temple is the aunt of Lord Jagannath.
