Masala Radio and Tara Energy, in association with the Gujarati Samaj of Houston, India culture Centre (ICC), India House and the Hindus of Greater Houston presents a community wide Diwali celebration, ZEE Diwali Mela on Saturday, November 10th 2012 at Constellation Field, the brand new Skeeters Baseball Stadium.
The Constellation Field will serve as a perfect venue, with ample parking even for the capacity crowd expected of 8000 and has 5000 built seats, a giant 200 x 90 video screen and a circle concourse to accommodate 60 vendors, including delicious Indian street foods, glittering jewelry and fashion Bazaar, henna, face painting and corporate booths with Diwali giveaways.
Zee TV will have a on site recording booth where people can record their personalised Diwali greetings. One of them will have a chance to get their ad on Zee Dil Se.
The main attraction of the event will be the mind blowing Masala Entertainment lineup, featuring Indian Idol finalist Bhoomi Trivedi and three young singers playing the latest Bollywood tracks and the finale Dandia Raas.
Houston will experience the ancient pleasure of playing Disco Dandia on the luxuriously soft, manicured outfield Bermuda grass sponsored by the Gujarati Samaj of Houston.
Hindus of Greater Houston will welcome guests with traditional tikko and organise a grand scale Maha Aarti with 1001 diyas passed out to the audience. DJ Zee will rock the main stage and AD sounds will provide a memorable American rock band style stage light show.
