My Sweet Experiences with Sri Yogi Ram Surat Kumar Ji…
Yogi Ramsuratkumar (1918–2001) was an Indian saint. He was fondly referred to as “Visiri samiyar” who usually keeps visiri(Hand Fan) in his hand, and bless his devotees. He has lived in Tiruvannamalai, after becoming a saint. Tiruvannamalai is famous for big and small temples. Spiritual seekers will visit here from all over the world to seek the divine blessings, and to get peace of mind.
Yogi Ramsuratkumar was born in a village in Uttar Pradesh. In his childhood, in his home town, he met many saints, and received their blessings.
He met both Sri Aurobindo and Ramana Maharishi, and received blessings from both of them.
He went to Tiruvannamalai in 1959 from his native place. Swamiji lived in a small house near the AnnamalaiyarTemple. From there, he was blessing his devotees, since for the devotees who outnumber, the Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashram was constructed at Tiruvannamalai.
I want to share some of my sweet experiences with Sri Yogi Ram Ji which I had it during 1990’s.
After finishing my Degree, I used to visit Thiruvannamalai once in a month. I had performed Girivalam in Thiruvannamalai, and at that time I used to visit his Ashram too! Sometimes he would be available inside the Ashram, but sometimes he used to wander in the streets of Thiruvannamalai in order to personally meet his devotees! He is such a great, fantastic and a simple person! Though I have not personally interacted with him in detail, but, however I have received blessings from him at his Ashram.
He used to lift his hands in the form of blessing posture and used to say “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA”, and his mouth would frequently utter the names of Lord Shiva. Once I even tried to touch his feet, but he hesitated my act, and asked me to bow before the holy Shiva Lingam. I also raised some questions about my future life, but he didn’t reply for that, but, he smiled and blessed me, and that act itself is sufficient for me.
Once I received some Prasadam (Food Items) from his hands, by considering it to be the Holy Divine Amirtha! Yogi Ram Surat Kumar Ji would sometime talk only a little, but, however he used to keenly observe everyone, and give his unlimited blessings by raising his hands.
Though now Yogiji’s physical presence is not there, but, however, we could feel his divine presence everywhere and anywhere, and of course, I would never forget his merciful face which shines like the glittering Dhruva star, and of course, we could never forget his pretty, admiring and loving smile.
