Butterflies are considered as small tiny angels in Hinduism, and it is also believed, that some of the celestial dancers in the Indra Loka, were cursed by Lord Indra to become butterflies due to some mistakes committed by them, and hence butterflies are to be worshipped as celestial creatures, and they should be well-protected, praised and preserved by us.
Butterflies are considered as the special creations of Lord Brahma, since these winged insects found busily flying near the beautiful flowers, and it can be found in large numbers in the flower gardens. A caterpillar after living for a few days, inside the leaves of the plants, becomes a beautiful butterfly, and shows its appearance before us. There are various varieties of butterflies, and it contains colourful wings. Butterflies used to suck the juice of the flowers through its mouth, and it would never eat any insects. Butterflies exist since Vedic period, and they are available throughout the world. Even in the Vedas, the butterfly types of insects are mentioned. It is also mentioned that some divine butterflies would show the path of heaven, to the noble ones, during their journey to heaven. Divine butterflies are also found in the heaven, and it looks very gigantic in size, and it appears similar to an angel.
Ancient kings used butterflies during war times, and they would invoke large number of butterflies on their enemies, in order to make them to get panic for a while. In one of the Tamil movie songs, the hero would describe the heroine similar to a butterfly, and the song has become very popular, and still it is being recited by most of the youngsters. Small children used to like butterflies, but some of them would cause harm to them, by removing their wings using a blade.
Butterflies are very soft and gentle insects, and they would never cause any harm to the humans, even if they have been attacked by them. Hence let us protect these beautiful species from extinction, since these are the precious gifts given by the nature mother.
In Hinduism frogs plays a significant role, in eating the harmful insects like mosquitoes, and thus controls diseases like cholera, malaria and pneumonia. Frogs are also mentioned in Greek texts, as Divine Vehicle to the Greek gods like Zeus and Apollo. The marriages of Frogs are also being organized by some villagers in Tamil Nadu, with the belief, that it would bring more rain to their places. Frogs are also considered to be the friend of the farmers, since they used to eat the worms and insects which would present inside the crops, and helps the crops to grow properly. Frogs are also believed that it would give prosperity and good health. Similar to keeping the smiling Buddha statue, it is also suggested to keep a frog doll in our home, in order to make Ma Lakshmi to permanently dwell in our homes. Frogs are considered as selfless creatures, since they used to willfully invite the snakes by making certain kind of noise, in order to make them as prey to the snakes. It is also believed, that after living for a certain period, frogs would collectively take a decision, in order to put their life to an end, and that’s why through their noise, they are willfully inviting the death god Yama to their places.
