An horoscope is a map of the heavens showing the positions of planets as seen from a place on Earth at the time of birth of an individual.
This map consists of 12 houses. Each house refers to certain spheres of the individuals activity. Signs are placed in these houses, and the planetary positions in these houses are shown according to the signs in which they happen to be at the time of birth.
The horoscope is called a nativity, and the individual whose horoscope is cast, is called the native.
In order to cast the horoscope, and present the necessary data for interpretations, one has to be equipped with the time of birth, the positions of signs, planets, houses, aspects and the procedure of the calculations These calculations require in turn, a knowledge of basic astronomy.
