Tumburu Teertham Mukkoti at Tirumala was celebrated on 20 March 2019.
Tumburu Teertham mukkoti has been observed with religious pomp and gaiety in Tirumala on Friday with hundreds of devotees trekking the steep hills of Seshachala to reach the holy waterfalls located in the thick green forests in Tirumala.
Among the 66 crore holy water falls located in the green belt of Seshachalam Ranges which also houses the world famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara, seven are considered to be most sacred which includes Swamy Pushkarini,Tumburu Teertham, Chakra Teertham,
Gogarbham, Papavinasanam, Akasa Ganga and Ramakrishna Teertham.
This mukkoti usually observed on full moon day usually in the months of March-April combined with the star Uttara Phalguni which is considered to be very auspicious. This theertham is named after Saint Tumburu who did penance here in these caves.
Keeping in view the heavy influx of devotees for the torrent festival, TTD has made elaborate arrangements from Tuesday onwards.
About 600 odd Srivari sevakulu have been deployed on March 19 itself for Anna Prasad am, health, medical departments. They offer services in two shifts to facilitate the devotees to the holy theertham.
25,000 water bottles and 50,000 buttermilk packets are kept ready.
The TTD Anna prasadam wing has distributed packets of Upma, Pulihora, sambar rice, Pongal, curd rice and Tomato rice from Tuesday morning with the assistance of volunteers.
