Tirumala Tirupati Venkateshwara Swamy Temple remains closed from tomorrow, 20 March 2020, 3’o clock till further notice. The Pujas and sevas to Venkateshwara Swamy will be performed in usual manner but devotees won’t be allowed for Darshanam.

On 19 March 2020, the TTD management has taken the decision to close down temple for devotees and announced the same in a press release, taking down the earlier press release of 18 March in which the management has asked devotees to not cancel their journey tickets but assured VIP break darshan.

This is the first time in the history that Tirumala Temple is going to close down for devotees for more than few hours. During Solar Eclipse or Lunar Eclipse, the temple would be closed for few hours and opened again after Samprokshana pujas for common devotees.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has taken the decision to close down all the temples in the state for devotees.

As a part of preventing the spread of Covid 19 – Corona Virus, TTD has temporarily suspended all the Arjita sevas conducted to the Srivari Utsava idols with immediate effect.

TTD appealed to the devotees to take note that the suspended sevas included arjita Brahmotsavam, Dolotsavam, Sahasra Kalasabhisekam, Kalyanotsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara seva. Arjitha Kalyanotsavam will be performed in Ekantham only.

All devotees with arjita seva tickets need not cancel their journey tickets, but could get darshan under VIP break category. Those who do not want to enjoy the VIP break darshan can opt for refund as well.

TTD has also suspended Anga Pradakshina, Senior Citizens, Physically Handicapped and parents with infant’s darshan, which will come into effect from Friday, March 20 onwards.
