Thiruvallam Sree Parasurama Swami Temple is one of the most ancient temples in Kerala and in South India as well. This Temple dedicated to Lord Parashurama, one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu, is located at Thiruvallam near Thiruvananthapuram city.

This temple lies on the banks of Karamana River. It is also significant that this temple is the only one dedicated to Lord Parashurama Swamy. The temple is situated at a distance of 9 Kms from Kovalam Beach and Trivandrum Airport.

According to the historians, Thiruvallam Parasurama Temple was built during the 12th and 13th century. It is a protected monument for the Archaeology Department of Kerala. Travancore Devaswom Board manages the Temple.

The major festivals celebrated in the temple are.. Parashurama Jayanti, Parashurama Dwadashi, Sri Krishna Janmashtami (Ashtami Rohini), Sri Rama Navami, Meda Sankranti (Vishu festival), Chingam 1 (Malayalam New Year) and Karkadika Vavubali. For Karkadika Vavubali pujas, thousands of devotees throng the temple and offer their pujas to Pitru Devatas (dead ancestors).
